the one that got away..

08 Dec

well THIS inspired me to write… after a realllly long hiatus.

Summer after high school when we first met
We make out in your Mustang to Radiohead
And on my 18th Birthday
We got matching tattoos

Used to steal your parents’ liquor
And climb to the roof
Talk about our future
Like we had a clue
Never planned that one day
I’d be losing you

In another life
I would be your girl
We’d keep all our promises
Be us against the world

In another life
I would make you stay
So I don’t have to say
You were the one that got away
The one that got away

I was June and you were my Johnny Cash
Never one without the other we made a pact
Sometimes when I miss you
I put those records on

Someone said you had your tattoo removed
Saw you downtown singing the Blues
It’s time to face the music
I’m no longer your muse

But in another life
I would be your girl
We’d keep all our promises
Be us against the world

In another life
I would make you stay
So I don’t have to say
You were the one that got away
The one that got away
The o-o-o-o-o-one [x3]
The one that got away

[Bridge:]
All this money can’t buy me a time machine (Nooooo)
It can’t replace you with a million rings (Nooooo)
I shoulda told you what you meant to me (Woooooow)
‘Cause now I paid the price

In another life
I would be your girl
We’d keep all our promises
Be us against the world

IF i were the teenager i was now…i can bet ya i have already recited the lyrics to this guy or include this song in my mix-tape i made for him..

although of course we didnt make out in a Mustang.. yes, we love radiohead.. no, didnt steal anyone’s liquor.. nope no matching tattoos! .. but we had our moments.. sweet moments

i managed to stalk him the other day.. he’s married, with twins! living in puchong or putrajaya – am not so sure.. He didnt marry his high-school sweetheart.. still into battlefileds and stuff (paintball style though).. still besties with his varsity friends..(from the pics).. still same size.., still pretty much him..

in another life…
